MinQuiz seeks to stimulate interest in careers involving Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Innovation (STEMI), especially in minerals and metallurgy, as well as promote an awareness of the importance of minerals and metallurgy to South Africa.
Osizweni Science Centre welcomed 15 parents and 40 children to present an “Edutainment Kiddies Fun Day on Science” programme on the morning of Saturday 22nd February 2014. The visitors were also able to play with interactive exhibits in the science centre.
Osizweni Science Centre hosted a primary school open day for mathematics, science and technology educators across the Standerton sub-region. A total of 38 educators attended the event.

National Science Week will be hosted at Osizweni during the week of 4-8 August 2014.
Two vehicles will be handed over to Osizweni by the Department of Science & Technology (DST).
KPMG together with Osizweni will host a recognition function for educators who attended 80% of the academy classes.
